Fill the small reservoir with water, press the button, and the car releases a fine mist from the rear as it moves — a trailing plume that looks exactly like exhaust smoke on a racetrack. Underneath the theatre is a properly built racing car. Low, wide, formula-styled, with a sculpted nose cone, a rear wing and chunky slick tyres, measuring 22cm long — substantial enough to feel like a real machine in a child's hands rather than a pocket toy.
